Dr. Nicole Mirzakhani (or “Dr. Nicole” as her patients know her) completed a double specialty program in Pharmacology and Human Biology at the University of Toronto. She then obtained her Doctoral of Medical Dentistry (DMD) from Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine in Boston, after which she returned home to Canada and obtained her Doctoral of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. In 1998 she started her dental career in Cobourg. She then operated her own dental practice in Scarborough from 2002 until 2009. In 2009 she took over the dental practice of retiring doctors Hansen and Leppert in Bowmanville. In July 2012, Dr. Nicole relocated this practice to its current location. She is the founder and principle dentist of Aspen Springs Dental Centre.

Dr. Nicole is an Invisalign provider and is passionate about enhancing her patient’s smiles by straightening their teeth.

Dr. Nicole enjoys spending time with her family as well as physical fitness, yoga, swimming and cycling in her free time.

Dr. Arazm Farhangfar is genuinely passionate about dentistry as well as meeting new people and hearing their stories. I care deeply about my patient’s concerns and comfort.

To him, dentistry is more than fixing people’s teeth, it is the art to give my patients the smile they deserve and always wanted. It is extremely rewarding and personally motivating to help my patients improve their oral health.

Dr. Ava Naghavi graduated with Honours from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto. Before that, she received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biology from York University. She is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Naghavi is passionate about all areas of dentistry. She is committed to providing comprehensive oral health care to her patients. She enjoys working with patients of all ages including kids.

Dr. Naghavi is also certified in oral sedation to help with the treatment of anxious patients. Dr. Naghavi is excited to work with you and your family to achieve healthy and beautiful smiles!

Dr. Brian Kumer graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto in 1984. He is a general practitioner who focuses on wisdom teeth removal, complicated extractions, and dental implant placement. He has completed many continuing education courses with special emphasis on extractions and implant surgery. He is a recent graduate of the Gide institute, a high-level implant training centre based in Santa Monica California. Dr. Kumer has two daughters, loves to travel and recently got married. He has traveled to Israel and the Philippines doing volunteer dentistry. Dr. Kumer recently reached his lifelong goals of climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and the “Trek to Everest Base Camp”.

Dr. Kumer is also certified for the administration of oral sedation and works closely with an anesthesiologist for I.V. sedation. Dr. Kumer is passionate about his career. He loves his work and looks forward each day to helping his patients reach their desired dental goals.

Dr. Jennifer Kushner obtained her BA from the University of Western Ontario in 1994 and BSc from York University in 1995. In 1999 she received her Doctoral of Dental Surgery (DDS) with honours from the University of Toronto. Following that she did a one-year general practice residency at Mt. Sinai hospital in Toronto. In 2003 she obtained her Master of Science (Periodontology) from the University of Toronto.

Dr. Kushner is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC) since 2003.

Dr. Kushner has been in private practice in the specialty of Periodontics in Etobicoke, Ontario since 2003.

“I like working in Bowmanville because the patients are so appreciative and there are few opportunities for patients to receive periodontal care from a specialist in the Bowmanville area. I also enjoy working with Nicole and her wonderful staff at this practice,” says Dr. Kushner who joined our practice in 2010 as a Periodontist.

Dr. Katayoon Azizi received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2004, she then completed a one- year Master of Science (Prosthodontics) program at The University of Manchester.

Dr. Azizi successfully passed the Canadian dental boards before registering as a general dentist in Ontario. She has a membership with the royal college of dental surgeons Ontario and Ontario dental association. She has been an associate general dentist in various dental offices in GTA since 2013.

Dr. Azizi (or “Dr. Kathy” as her Patients know her) enjoys all aspects of general dentistry from cosmetics to preventative care. She provides dentistry for patients of all ages and takes pride in delivering gentle care that results in healthy beautiful smiles.

In her own time, Dr. Azizi loves spending time with her family.

Dr. Sirisko attended the University of Toronto and over a fourteen-year period obtained his Bachelor of Science, Doctor of Dental Surgery, specialty training in Orthodontics, and Ph.D. in Neurophysiology.

In addition to part-time orthodontic practice, for several years he was a clinical instructor in the undergraduate orthodontic program at the University of Toronto dental college as well as teaching continuing education for the Ontario Dental Association.

He has served on the executive and as president of the Orthodontic study club of Ontario and as a consultant to the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.

In his spare time, Dr. Sirisko spends the warmer months enjoys exploring the wilderness of Ontario and spending quality time with his family. He is a proud father of two daughters who have very nice straight teeth!

Dr. Saade received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Shiraz in 1999. He successfully passed the Canadian National Dental Boards in 2015 and currently he is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeon of Ontario, Canadian dental association, Alberta dental Association and Ontario dental association. As an experienced dentist with more than 18 years in the General Dentistry, in Iran (Shiraz) and Canada (Alberta and Ontario) he brings unique knowledge and experience to his patients that enable him to excel in his career. He is dedicated to providing quality dental care to his patients and making every dental visit as comfortable as possible. He is highly skilled in all aspects of dentistry such as Restorative dentistry, Veneers, Crown and Bridges, Root Canals, Sedation and Dentures and Implants.

Aside from dentistry, he enjoys painting and drawing and spends time with his family and catching up on Sports such as soccer, hiking and swimming.

Dr. Parisa Tavakoli received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2008. She successfully passed the Canadian National Dental Board in 2012. She is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the Canadian dental association.

Dr. Tavakoli prides herself on her ability to listen to her patient’s concerns and provide individualized diagnoses and treatment plans. Her warm and gentle approach to dental care is noted by her patients.

In her spare time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.

Dr. Stephen Ing graduated in 1999 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto. In 2008, he completed his three-year postgraduate training in dental anesthesia at the University of Toronto.

He is a diplomat of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and a certified specialist in dental anesthesia registered with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.
