Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
At Aspen Springs Dental Centre, the technology we use helps to inform treatment planning and make your dental appointments run smoothly. Because we can display digital X-rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms, we can show you any issues in your mouth and walk you through your treatment plan.
Our goal is to provide patients with dental care while making sure they are fully informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us do that.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays use digital sensors instead of traditional photographic X-ray film. They produce highly detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures and conditions, allowing your dentist to examine parts of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to create an image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and the nasal and sinus structures. Panoramic X-rays are used to help plan treatments for dentures, braces, and implants.
Dental Lasers
In dentistry, lasers (focused light beams) can be used in a variety of soft and hard tissue procedures. They allow our dentists to perform dental procedures with less pain and fewer medical interventions. At Aspen Springs Dental Centre, our dentists use lasers in gum therapy to remove overgrown or decayed tissue or to reshape the gums. Lasers can also be used to harden dental restorations quickly, or to whiten teeth.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners create digital dental impressions, an ideal alternative to traditional dental impressions which can be messy and time-consuming. Your dentist simply uses an optical scanning wand to take a digital image of your teeth within minutes. This device allows your dentist to capture accurate data to create digital replicas of the hard and soft tissues of your mouth.
Oral Cancer Screening Device
The VELscope® is an oral cancer screening device that helps to identify abnormalities and diseases, such as cancerous and precancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualisation technology, it can be performed in the office and under normal lighting conditions in about two minutes.
iTero 3D Scanner
The iTero® intraoral scanner takes very accurate, 3D impressions of your teeth and mouth. It allows your dentist to plan your dental treatment in real-time, store data digitally, and create your custom Invisalign clear aligners.
