What is Restorative Dental Care?
Restorative dental care includes any procedure that aims to restore the normal function and appearance of your smile.
Our dentists can help restore your smile - and your oral health - by repairing structural issues such as damaged or missing teeth.
Depending on your issue, the dentists at Aspen Springs Dental Centre can determine the right restorative treatment option for you.
Dental Crowns
Crowns are porcelain caps that are placed on top of teeth to repair their function and appearance. Crowns are used to attach bridges, cover dental implants or prevent a cracked tooth from worsening. They can also help to restore a discoloured or stained tooth to its natural appearance.
Dental Bridges
Bridges are tooth replacements that look natural and are bonded to existing teeth or dental implants to replace a section of missing teeth. Bridges should be barely noticeable because they are custom-made and can restore the natural contour of teeth as well as the bite between the upper and lower teeth.
Dental Fillings
At Aspen Springs Dental Centre, we use composite (tooth-coloured) fillings to repair a cavity or tooth damage. These fillings can withstand moderate pressure from the stress of chewing and can be used on front and back teeth.
Full & Partial Dentures
Dentures are artificial teeth used to replace one missing tooth, several in a row (partial dentures), or a whole jaw (full dentures). They allow patients with missing teeth to maintain their facial structure and talk and eat properly.
Inlays & Onlays
Inlays and onlays are tooth-coloured porcelain fillings that are used to repair cavities that are too large for a standard dental filling. They are made to order in a dental laboratory and permanently bonded to the tooth as a single piece.
Root Canals
A root canal is a procedure in which diseased blood vessels, nerves, and tissues are removed from the interior of a tooth. Your dentist can help stop the spread of infection and avoid the need for extraction by removing decay and bacteria.
Periodontal (Gum) Therapy
Gum disease is an infection of mouth tissues, including the gums, gingiva, alveolar bone, cementum, and periodontal ligament. If the disease is caught in the early stages, preventive therapy will be recommended. Otherwise, treatment methods will depend on the type and severity of the disease. At Aspen Springs Dental Centre, we offer the services of an in-house periodontist.
